- The coronavirus is not a joke or a fiction, it is surprising that in the second year of the pandemic, people still need to be convinced of this. No matter how many beds there are in infectious diseases hospitals, they are finite and rapidly filling up throughout the country. Colleagues, doctors, I also appeal to you, let's start talking frankly and without beauty with our compatriots. I feel that in terms of clarification, we are not working on everything. The situation, if not critical, is close to this, - wrote Protsenko in his Telegram.

He clarified that he is in contact with doctors throughout the country, and they report that the situation in the covid hospitals is "very tense." Such a high number of patients in Protsenko associated with the reluctance of citizens to get vaccinated.

- Lots of patients. This is not surprising with such a low vaccination rate! Operational analysis shows that the delta strain has become dominant. He has a higher contagiousness, in patients the disease proceeds differently, the established treatment algorithms and protocols do not work as efficiently. Therefore, there are many serious patients in intensive care, - said Protsenko, adding that you need to be vaccinated in order to "prepare your body for a meeting" with covid.
