The port of Murcan is listed as the ship's destination in the automatic identification system (AIS). The Russian ship left the port of St. Petersburg on September 15. It should arrive at the port of destination on September 17.

Earlier, Berlin indicated that Germany might refuse to participate in Nord Stream 2 due to the situation with Alexey Navalny. German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that the final decision would depend on Russia.

Discussion regarding the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, designed to supply gas from Russia to Germany through Scandinavia, escalated in early September 2020, when Berlin announced the confirmation of the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Navalny with Novichok poison. Representatives of the Russian special services were suspected of using banned chemical weapons against a civilian.

Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin is sure that the so-called "Navalny case" is a provocation by the United States, arranged to introduce new sanctions restrictions against Russia.

Dmitry Trenin, director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, believes that the "Navalny case" has become a turning point that has ended a long period of trusting relations between Russia and Germany. Now, Trenin believes, Germany will abandon Nord Stream 2.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was initially an ardent defender of the gas pipeline, but later revised her position - against the background of the "Navalny case". She said that the Nord Stream issue should be decided not by German politicians, but by the whole of Europe.

At the same time, in early September, the Bundestag said that attempts to stop the construction of the SP-2 gas pipeline could harm the economic interests of Germany.
