The level of poverty in Russia, according to sociologists, significantly exceeds the official data: according to polls, almost 40% of the country's citizens live in a humiliating situation of constant lack of money.

According to a survey by Otkritie Bank, 37% of the country's citizens live in constant money-saving mode.

"Most often, residents of the Central Federal District (47%) and Siberia (43%) answered this way", - the Dozhd TV channel reported.

More than half of the respondents (56%) start saving when financial problems appear, 37% do it constantly and deliberately.

Residents of the Urals and the North Caucasus are least of all constrained in funds (30% each). Only 7% of the country's citizens can live for their own pleasure, without denying themselves anything. More often these are residents of Moscow and the Moscow region, where there are 5 percentage points more rich: 12% of respondents never save on anything.

For every fifth Russian, the coronavirus pandemic became a negative financial factor, which made them tighten their belts. First of all, when incomes fall, people begin to save on travel, gadgets and household appliances. For every fourth out of ten Russians surveyed, savings on clothes are characteristic, and 23% “have gone to the extreme” and are forced to save even on food.

Compared with the data of four months ago, the financial situation of Russians has worsened. In February of this year, 25% of the country's citizens complained that they did not have enough salary to pay basic bills. Almost half of the residents (46%) lack over 20 thousand rubles a month, 44% monthly lack from 10 to 20 thousand rubles, and 10% have to borrow "before payday" from five to ten thousand rubles.

On the eve it became known that for a normal life the majority of Russians consider a salary of 75 thousand rubles worthy. Moreover, for residents of capital cities, this amount is higher. In Moscow, you can live "normally" on 104.4 thousand rubles a month, in St. Petersburg - on 98.5 thousand, in Vladivostok - on 92.7 thousand rubles.

While most of the country's citizens are struggling to survive, it turned out that there are 57 thousand dollar millionaires in the Russian Federation. Less than 0.0001% of the adult population in Russia - about 500 “super-rich” citizens - own 40% of all financial assets of Russians, or $ 640 billion.
