The average size of a consumer loan in Russia decreased by 1.4 times - up to 138.4 thousand rubles. This is the lowest figure in more than seven years.

According to RIA Novosti, referring to Equifax credit bureau, in March, banks reduced the amount of consumer loans issued by 43.5% - 106.7 thousand rubles.

"As close as possible to the current level, the size of the average amount of consumer loans was noted more than 7 years ago and fluctuated at the level of 150-170 thousand rubles", - said the head of the bureau, Oleg Lagutkin.

This trend is due to the adjustment of credit and limit policies by creditors.

Also last month, the period for issuing loans rapidly increased - by seven months, up to two years and a month. Such dates were last observed in 2019.
