The number of DDoS attacks on companies grew 2.5 times in 2021

According to RIA Novosti, referring to Rostelecom's data, the number of DDoS attacks on data centers and gaming, "which a year ago were in the focus of hackers' attention", has now decreased.

According to the company, mostly hackers attack Moscow organizations - 60%. The share of each region does not exceed 7%. In addition, the capital is in first place in terms of the average power of DDoS attacks, which leaves more than 70 Gbps.

The number of attacks on credit institutions increased 3.5 times, and 90% fell on the last month. The number of attacks on the online trading segment increased by 20% - most of the incidents were noted in March. The public sector also began to be attacked more often - by 17%, and twice as many attacks occurred in September and August, which experts associate with the preparations for the elections to the State Duma.

It's worth reminding that at the beginning of the year, hackers attacked the Rosgvardia website, but the attack was neutralized.
