Hydrometeorological Center predicted abnormal warming

The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told about this to RIA Novosti.

- It's incredibly warm in the Kaliningrad region. The water temperature is 21-22 degrees, the air temperature is above 25 degrees, it can reach 30 degrees. This weather has been around for a week, and it will continue until the middle of next week. Temperatures are four to five degrees above normal. This is a rare situation for the second half of August, and on some days there were temperature records, - noted Vilfand, adding that Kaliningrad will face the same weather as on the Black Sea coast, except that the water temperature is lower - 21-22 degrees.

In St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions, as well as in Karelia, the air temperature will exceed the norm by four to six degrees. Let us remind you that there were frosts recently.

- In Murmansk, 17-18 degrees Celsius, in St. Petersburg - 23-25 degrees, - concluded Vilfand.
