Top Russian officials recommend that Russians save up for retirement on their own, as if “forgetting” that the state took most of their salaries for pension payments.

As already reported by Novye Izvestia, the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank, Sergey Shvetsov, made a scandalous advice, saying that Russians who want to live comfortably in retirement should not rely on only state benefits: the formation of pension savings must be done additionally throughout their life:

“Helping pensioners, my personal opinion, is a little late. You need to help a citizen to retire with a good pension project, which, first of all, must be formed by the citizen himself throughout his life. This is called capitalism".

Very quickly yesterday, the Central Bank corrected the statement of its deputy chairman, smoothing out the sharp corners. But the words sparked outrage on social media. The general opinion on this matter was well formulated by the publicist Ilya Vaitsman:

“Here some “deputy chairman of the Central Bank” (no matter which one, they are all non-personal there) spoke in the spirit that future old age is the problems of citizens themselves, don’t save money for“ old age”, and that“ the state owes you nothing ”(main the leitmotif of Putinism, by the way). Like: "What other old-age pensions do you have?"

Ok, I agree. With only one caveat: from the moment of my first employment, from the age of 14, about a quarter of my salary was withheld from my salary for many decades, explaining this by the fact that it was necessary "for a future pension".

So: give me back all MY money with the interest and recalculations due for these decades - and roll with your "state" on a pedestrian erotic journey. I have enough earned and even the children will have a little.

An accessible idea, citizen "deputy chairman of the Central Bank"? Return the money..."

Meanwhile, it is known that the average old-age pension in Russia today is about 16 thousand rubles, while for a comfortable life after going on a well-deserved rest, a person needs at least 60 thousand rubles a month. Moreover, many citizens of the country who find themselves in a pandemic below the poverty line do not have the means at all to save and save "for old age" or "for a rainy day". This, in particular, is evidenced by the increase in the number of applications to MFOs, where desperate citizens are given small amounts "before payday" at extortionate interest...
