This was reported by "Interfax" with reference to the chairman of the board of the organization Oleg Orlov.
He noted that after the arrest, the head of the department was taken to the office of the organization and searched there. It is noted that today the head of the organization planned to make a report at the Yeltsin Center.
According to Oleg Orlov, the reason for the search at the organization was information that the office allegedly contained extremist literature. This information was to be verified by investigators. Law enforcement agencies have not yet commented on the detention and searches in the organization.
Recall that this human rights organization was included in the register of foreign agents back in 2016. Last year, the court ruled to liquidate it, as the organization repeatedly violated the requirements of the law on foreign agents. In particular, the organization did not mark “foreign agent” in the materials it distributed, for which it was repeatedly fined.
