- Due to the drought and dry winds, a further increase in the areas of agricultural and forage crops death is predicted on the territory of the Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk regions and the Altai Territory, - said on the website of the VNII CHOGS.
According to experts, a drought may lead to a decrease in crop yields in the southeastern regions of the Rostov region, some regions of the northeast and south of the Volgograd region, the northeastern regions of the Kuban, as well as in the north and center of Kalmykia.
Let us recall that earlier the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand predicted a soil drought that could threaten a number of regions. The expert named Krasnodar Territory, Astrakhan, Belgorod, Oryol, Smolensk, Kaluga, Lipetsk, Bryansk and Kursk regions, as well as Crimea among the subjects where drought is expected.
