“To a greater extent, in real traffic conditions, a candidate for drivers will be assessed and allowed to participate in road traffic, including on highways, parking lots, crossroads”, - Cherenkov told RIA Novosti.

According to the head of the State Traffic Inspectorate, so the examiner will be able to fully assess the skills of the candidate, and an extended line of exercises will help the traffic police officer "understand how safe the driver will be".

Cherenkov recalled that today "many young drivers are dying on the streets".

"More than 700 die a year with the received low knowledge and skills", - said the head of the traffic police.

Recall that the new rules will take effect from April next year. According to the updated document, errors and violations will be divided into groups, they will be assigned points. To successfully pass the exam, the candidate will need to score five points. At the same time, the examinee has the danger of completing the exam immediately after some violations - for example, due to not wearing a seat belt or if he uses a mobile phone while driving.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs offered to allow driving a car from the age of 17. Now at this age you can pass the exam, but it turns out that you cannot practice after obtaining the license. Experts believe that this year the young driver will forget the rules of the road and will lose the driving skills acquired at the driving school.

By the way, now users of electric scooters will have to obtain a driver's license.
