The Ministry of Labor did not support the proposal of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, Anna Kuznetsova, to introduce payments in the amount of 10 thousand rubles for two months for children 16 and 17 years old.

This was reported by TASS in the press service of the Children's Ombudsman.

Earlier, Anna Kuznetsova appealed to the government with a request to extend lump-sum assistance payments in the amount of 10 thousand rubles to a child aged three to 16 years old also to children under 18 years of age, as citizens began to request to expand the age range “with renewed vigor”.

“With renewed vigor, appeals began to come to us asking us to increase the age of recipients of a lump sum payment of 10 thousand rubles to 18 years. We appealed to the government on this issue. Our appeal was transferred to the supervising department - the Ministry of Labor, which, unfortunately, is not supported our proposal. Their arguments regarding the possibility of employing children over 16 years old, of course, cannot suit us. Thousands of requests from citizens are still unanswered", - Kuznetsova said.

According to the Ombudsman for Children, the Federation Council and the State Duma reacted positively to her idea, and in a number of regions they decided to introduce support measures for payments for children 16 and 17 years old at the local level.

“Of course, this decision needs to be supported and disseminated”, - Anna Kuznetsova is sure.

In spring, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered financial support measures for families with children under three years of age. From April to June, they were assigned payments of five thousand. Families with children from three to 16 years old were provided with a lump sum payment of 10 thousand. On June 23, during an appeal to the Russians, Putin announced the second payment of benefits for families with children under 16 years of age.

Anyone who received a similar payment in June will be automatically transferred the money for July to their cards. You will not have to fill out the application again. Those parents who did not have time to receive appropriate payments for children can apply for before the end of September.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the government allocated over 270 billion rubles for these purposes.
