Russians living abroad complained about the inability to vote on the amendments of the Constitution

The CEC website indicates that six polling stations are organized in China - in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Harbin, in Japan there are polling stations in four cities (Tokyo, Niigata, Osaka and Sapporo), in Vietnam - three (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Dinang), in South Korea - only in Seoul and Busan, in Thailand - in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. According to a study by the Young Far East portal, voting for Russians living in other locations in Asian countries is quite problematic. In connection with measures to combat the spread of coronavirus infection, transport between settlements is difficult, and in some cases is completely absent. In addition, due to the ongoing regime of self-isolation, the possibility of movement even within the same city for Russians is limited.

Citizens of the Russian Federation began to turn to consulates with a request to provide them with the opportunity to repay their civic duty.

- Can a university student somehow vote if they are not allowed out of campus? - asks one of the Russian students on the VK page of the Consulate General of Russia in Harbin.

Citizens of the Russian Federation, living, for example, in Japanese Hiroshima, Chinese Xi'an and other cities, report that they can not vote either "locally" or online.

Journalists appealed to the Russian Foreign Ministry with a request to understand the situation.

“I want to take this opportunity and personally contact the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, with a request to provide Russian citizens with the opportunity to cast their ballots everywhere or at international agreements to provide Russian citizens living in SEA with the opportunity to get to the polling station without hindrance”, writes the editor-in-chief of the portal Stanislav Voronov.

Earlier, Russians were partially allowed to vote online. In this format, transparency of the electoral process raised questions from experts. The leader of A Just Russia, Sergey Mironov, is sure that the opinion of the Russians will no longer be secret. He believes that remote voting will make the election “controlled”.

In this case, hackers have made an attack on the system of electronic voting in the Constitution.

Let us recall also that police officers began checking the information about a possible vote twice by one citizen on amendments to the Constitution. The Moscow Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that a repeat vote is contrary to law and is a violation.
