The company Facebook announced that it will send messages to Instagram users about the need to indicate the date of birth in the profile settings. Experts will check the authenticity of the data using artificial intelligence algorithms.
According to the developers, this way it will be better to personalize ads and create special features to protect children.
"We will show the notification several times. If by a certain point you do not give your birthday, you will need to do this in order to continue using Instagram", - said in a message from Facebook.
The company notes that now the date of birth will be requested when launching the application and in the stubs of posts with adult content.
Facebook recalled that the application does not allow sending a message to people under the age of 18 if the recipient is not subscribed to the sender.
