The purchasing power of the average Russian wage turned out to be much higher than the average Soviet one.

The famous network fighter against Soviet myths, Maxim Mirovich, devoted his next post to comparing the salaries received by the citizens of the USSR with today's Russian ones. He rightly noted that the average Soviet salary was by no means 500-600 rubles, as fans of the USSR like to say, but only 120-150, and the minimum - which was received by workers without any qualifications, like orderlies, janitors and cleaners - was 70 rubles. Taking 130 rubles as the average figure - the usual salary of employees and engineers and technicians, Mirovich compiled a table in which he also gave the price of goods in Soviet stores and their quantity that could be bought with this money.

Products:

Boiled sausage, 2.2 rubles - 59 kg.

Smoked sausage, 4.5 rubles - 29

Meat (pork or beef), 2.3 rubles - 56.5

Meat (fresh tenderloin on the market), 4.5 rubles - 29

A dozen eggs, 1.3 rubles - 100 dess.

A bottle of vodka 2.87 rubles - 45 bottles.

A kilogram of rice, 0.9 rubles - 144 kg.

Lunch in the canteen, 1 rub - 130 dinners.

A trip to a restaurant (modest), 10 rubles - 13 times.

Other goods:

Vacuum cleaner "Typhoon", 45 rubles - 2.8 pcs.

And what can you buy in today's Russia and Belarus, where the average salary is about $ 500

Products: A kilogram of cooked sausage costs $ 2.2 - 227 kg (in the USSR - 59)

A kilogram of raw smoked sausage costs $ 6 - 83 (29)

Fresh meat costs about $ 7 per kg - 70 (56)

A dozen eggs cost a little over $ 1 - 450 dess. (one hundred)

A kilogram of rice costs about $ 0.8 - 625 kg (144)

A good lunch in a cafe costs $ 4 - 125 lunches (the same as in the USSR, but better in quality).

As for cars: if a three-ruble Lada in the USSR could be bought for 57 salaries, having waited in line for 10 years (!), Then a car of the same level (but much better quality) today, such as the FW Polo, costs 2 times cheaper and without any queues.

What other arguments do fans of the USSR need?
