The worst result in four years at the US Open tournament was shown by Russian Daniil Medvedev, losing to Australia's Nick Kyrgios in the fourth round.

The 26-year-old tennis player failed to reach the quarterfinals after losing to world No. 25 Nick Kyrgios 6:7 (11:13), 6:3, 3:6, 2:6. The opponents spent 2 hours and 56 minutes on the court.

Now Kiryos will play with another Russian - Karen Khachanov, who is on the 31st line of the rating. He has already defeated the Spaniard Pablo Carreno-Busta, the 12th number of the rating.

It's worth that Medvedev is the first racket of the world. He has 14 Association of Tennis Professionals titles.

In June, we recall, he lost to the Pole Hubert Hurchak in the final of the ATP tournament in Halle, Germany. A week before, he lost to the Dutchman Tim van Reithoven, which, however, did not prevent him from once again taking first place in the ATP rankings, overtaking Serb Novak Djokovic.
