Russian gymnasts won the Olympics in the team all-around

Nikita Nagorny, Artur Dalaloyan, David Belyavsky and Denis Ablyazin played for the Russian team.

The artistic gymnastics tournament began on July 24 and will end on July 28.

Earlier on June 26, the young saber fencer Sofia Pozdnyakova, who beat her more experienced team rival Sofia Velikaya in the final, brought the gold medal to the national team's collection.

This victory was the first for the Russian national team in this form at the Games since 1996.

In total, the Russian Olympic team at the Tokyo Games included 335 athletes who compete in 33 sports.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics kicked off a year later than planned due to the coronavirus pandemic. Due to the fact that the virus has not yet been completely defeated, the competitions are held almost without spectators, the entry of foreign fans into the country is prohibited. The winning athletes are only allowed to remove their masks for 30 seconds in order to take a photo on the pedestal at the time of the Olympic awards.
