Police in Kiev found the body of Vitaly Shishov, the head of the Belarusian House in Ukraine (BHU), who disappeared the day before.

As RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the capital's department of the National Police of Ukraine, criminologists believe that the public activist could have been killed and disguised as a suicide.

“Vitaly's mobile phone and personal belongings were taken from the scene. The police have started criminal proceedings under the article “Intentional murder” and will check all versions”, - the message says.

Police began questioning witnesses and checking CCTV footage.

Vitaly Shishov stopped communicating on August 2. He stopped answering phone calls after his morning run. CCTV footage showed that Shishov left his house at about 9 o'clock in the morning and did not return.

"Several so-called empty calls were made from his number, but now it is impossible to contact it. He didn’t get in touch anymore”, - the BHU said.

It was not possible to track the location of Shishov. The organization contacted the police. Dog handlers checked the forest where Shishov goes to check, but did not find any traces of him. According to the acquaintances of the head of the BDU, he had previously noticed that he was being watched during his jogging. In addition, some suspicious people came to both him and his girlfriend, who “tried to start a conversation”, - informs the unregistered human rights center “Viasna”.

It should be noted that the BDU is a public non-profit organization that helps Belarusians "and all those who have suffered" from the actions of the Belarusian authorities.

On the eve it became known that the family of the athlete Kristina Timanovskaya, who asked for political asylum in Poland, fled from Belarus to the territory of Ukraine. She turned to the police for help after the representatives of the Belarusian delegation, in response to criticism on social networks, tried to forcibly take her out of the country, removing her from the start for which she was preparing.
