Film about the persecution of gays "Welcome to Chechnya" became one of the winners of BAFTA award

The documentary "Welcome to Chechnya" has become one of the winners of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) television award. The film was nominated for the Best International Project.
The film, directed by David France, tells about the persecution and torture of homosexuals in Chechnya due to their orientation. Several gays are trying to leave the republic, and human rights activists are trying to help them in this. The film was released in 2020, according to the award's website.
We will remind, earlier "Novaya Gazeta" published an investigation, which reported that on the night of January 26, 2017, 27 homosexuals were shot in Grozny. The Chechen authorities call all statements about executions rumors, and journalists who talk about it - "shaitans".
