After the restrictions on flights with Turkey were introduced, many Russian tourists who went on vacation to other countries with a transfer in Istanbul began to receive messages from Turkish airlines about the cancellation of return flights.

"I received an email from Turkish Airlines informing me that the last segment of my return ticket from Tbilisi - Istanbul-Moscow - has been canceled. For more information, it was suggested to contact the airline by phone. However, there is only an automated menu without the ability to communicate with the operator, it does not give information about returning to Russia”, - a tourist who was going to return to Moscow from Tbilisi with a transfer in Istanbul on April 19 told Interfax.

Another tourist, who flew with his family to Egypt, also experienced difficulties in returning to Moscow.

"We left in the middle of last week with a docking in Turkey and planned to return home this Friday. But yesterday we received a flight cancellation notice. We phoned the Turkish airline's Cairo office, but we could not provide information on the return options, the online re-registration option on the website does not work”, - he said.

Earlier, Rosturizm announced that it had launched a hotline related to the suspension of flights with Turkey. However, the Russians could not get help there. They could not even get through: the line was either busy or the connection was lost.

Both tourists had to purchase new tickets, which exclude connection in Turkey.

In addition, the agency reported another tourist in Istanbul on vacation with his family. In his case, the flight to Moscow DP884 on April 18 will take place on schedule.

"After we learned about the decision of the headquarters to restrict air traffic, we immediately began to find out the possibilities of returning to their homeland. The airline notified us of the scheduled return flight only the night before. Before that, we were in the dark about how and when they would take us out. Therefore, just in case, we decided to stay in Istanbul and cancel the trip to Cappadocia. However, the hotels met us halfway and returned the money for accommodation paid through the booking service at a non-refundable rate without fines, the transport company did the same", - said the Russian.

Recall that on Monday, April 12, the coronavirus headquarters announced the suspension of flights to Turkey and Tanzania from April 15 to June 1, as the epidemiological situation in these countries worsened.

Note that another record for coronavirus disease has been recorded in Turkey.
