Gazprom did not reserve the capacity of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline for the transit of gas through Poland for December 23, according to GSA Platform data.

On some days, the company ordered capacity not on a regular basis, but at an additional session, and used short-term intraday reservations for several hours. But the offer for Thursday was again unclaimed. Note that this is the fourth day in a row.

A total of 89.1 million cubic meters were offered at the entry point to the Polish section of the pipeline, which is one of the main routes for the supply of fuel to Europe for Gazprom.

It should be reminded that since the end of last week, Gazprom has been reducing the reservation of the pipeline's capacities. As of December 17, 27 million cubic meters were purchased, on December 18 - 5.2 million, on December 19 - 4.2 million, on December 20 - 3.8 million. In total. Note that 89.1 million cubic meters are available for purchase. Until December 17, the company booked 31.4 million cubic meters daily.

Moreover, Gazprom refused to reserve for a month.

According to the heads of the state corporation, Gazprom continues to supply gas through the pipeline in accordance with the requests of consumers in accordance with contractual obligations.

Undoubtedly, the decline in supplies across Yamal - Europe, along with other factors, affects the mood of the gas market participants. The cost of gas futures on December 21 for the first time in history reached $ 2,190 per thousand cubic meters. The explosive rise in gas prices in European countries is explained by the fact that the Russian authorities have shifted their political claims to the economic sphere.

Let us remind you that Yamal-Europe is a key gas artery that passes through Belarus and Poland and supplies consumers in Germany with raw materials from West Siberian fields.

With the gas pipeline shutting down, spot gas prices in Europe have hit record highs. Both traders and the authorities of European countries understand that they may not have enough gas until the end of the winter season. The energy crisis in 2022 will harm European consumers in the amount of 350 billion euros, the Minister of Environment and Energy of Greece Costas Skrekas said at the Council of EU Environment Ministers in Brussels.
