Tour operators recorded a record demand for tours to Egypt during the November holidays. The country became the most popular among Russian tourists during this period.

The Russians have already bought almost all the places in expensive hotels for these dates, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

Regular flights to this country have already been sold by 75%, ATOR reports with reference to one of the tour operators. Another market participant notes that tours to Egypt were sold out even before the lockdown was announced. On these dates there are holidays for schoolchildren. Those planning the trip bought tickets long before the November holidays were declared non-working. They noted that most of the vouchers for these dates have already been sold.

"For a weekend in November, finding a place in Egyptian hotels is now extremely difficult. During the lockdown period in Moscow and the regions, demand has increased significantly. Many premium hotels in Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh have already put up a stop sale," another tour operator commented.

Russian tourists who did not have time to purchase a ticket to Egypt, but still want to get to this country for the November holidays, still have the hope of booking those rooms that were not previously put up for sale, since until October 21, hotels in Egypt were allowed to work from 70 % loading. Now this restriction has been removed. However, as predicted by ATOR, it will not be so easy for Egyptian hoteliers to put up these 30% of the room stock for sale.

"To service these rooms, and, accordingly, tourists, you need to hire additional staff. At the same time, these new employees must also be vaccinated", - the association notes.

Now the country's top hotels are recruiting additional staff in order to realize this percentage of the room stock.

At the same time, the situation is further complicated by the fact that restrictions on the seating of guests in hotel restaurants and the observance of social distance remain.

We will remind, from October 30 to November 7 in Russia are declared non-working days. The Russians were urged to give up travel for this period and spend long weekends at home. Tour operators, on the contrary, recorded an increased demand for travel abroad for long holidays.
