CEC of Armenia refused to recognize the results of parliamentary elections as invalid

“Elections can be considered invalid only if the presence of irregularities affected the entire electoral process and the final results. The CEC did not register such data, which means that we cannot recognize the elections as invalid”, - TASS quoted CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan as saying.

The blocs of former presidents of Armenia Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan “Armenia” and “I have the honor”, as well as the “Zartonk” party, demanded to declare the parliamentary elections invalid.

Today, June 27, the CEC of Armenia published the final results of the elections, which took place a week ago. According to the results of the voting, the party and won. about. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's "Civil Contract", gaining 53.91% of the vote - she will receive 71 deputy mandates. The second place was taken by the "Armenia" bloc with 21.9% of the votes. The "I Have the Honor" block gained 5.22%. The other 22 political forces did not overcome the passing barrier. According to Mukuchyan, the turnout was 49.39%.

Parliament is elected for a five-year term. The mandates will be distributed by the electoral commission. The right to form the government and nominate a candidate for the post of prime minister belongs to the parliamentary majority.
