Gazprom completely cut off gas supplies to the Dutch company GasTerra

The termination of deliveries of the Dutch GasTerra was confirmed by the press service of Gazprom.

“Gazprom has completely stopped gas supplies to GasTerra BV (Netherlands) due to non-payment in rubles. As of the end of the working day on May 30, Gazprom Export has not received payment for gas supplies in April from GasTerra BV in accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. » .

The contract between GasTerra and Gazprom was signed until October 1, 2022. Subject to payment, the Dutch company would have received about 2 billion cubic meters of Russian gas before the expiration of the contract. The statement of the Dutch corporation refers to the start of gas purchases from other suppliers. At the same time, GasTerra itself finds it difficult to predict the consequences of refusing supplies from Russia for Europe, including how this will affect supply and demand.

“This is due to the fact that it could lead to a violation of sanctions imposed by the EU, and also because there are too many financial and operational risks associated with the required payment method,” the press service of GasTerra explained yesterday .
