The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov proposed to consider the republic a de facto member of NATO

"Ukraine and the country's armed forces have become members of NATO. De facto, not de jure. Because we have weapons and an understanding of how to use them", - Alexey Reznikov said in an interview with the BBC. The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, stressed at the end of last year that Kiev needs to think not about how to join NATO, but about how to preserve the republic as an independent state.

It is noteworthy that at the same time, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba was not allowed to attend the meeting of the heads of the bloc in Bucharest.
