Putin promised payments from the state to military priests

According to the President, he recently discussed the issues of providing additional state guarantees to military priests with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

"He raised these questions. Of course, of course, and what is the difference between a priest who walks under bullets from all other military personnel? In this case, nothing. And of course, we will keep this in mind", - Interfax quoted Putin as saying.

Putin announced his intention to provide cash payments to priests during a conversation with representatives of the clergy on February 23. It is expected that priests in the war zone will receive payments from the budget in case of injury or death.

Earlier, Patriarch Kirill demanded that the priests be granted a reprieve from mobilization.

The President's communication with representatives of the clergy and military personnel took place after the ceremony of laying flowers at the grave of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall in Moscow.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that military priests arrived in the Kharkiv region at the location of military units of the Western Military District in the zone of a special military operation.

"Military priests consecrated banners with the image of the Holy Prince Dmitry Donskoy and handed them over to the soldiers of the advanced units", - the ministry said.
