At the same time, Sergey Sobyanin urged not to forget about the coronavirus and urged Muscovites to be careful, avoid unnecessary contacts, and devote the "long weekend" to the country house and those closest to them. Sergey Sobyanin said earlier, on April 20, that the situation with the coronavirus in Moscow really began to deteriorate again. At the same time, he announced an incentive program for elderly Muscovites who were vaccinated with the coronavirus vaccine.

As reported by the RIA Novosti agency, the Rospotrebnadzor in Moscow on April 29 reported that the incidence of coronavirus COVID-19 in the capital exceeds the national average. The ministry also called on citizens to "restrict attendance at mass events" and warned that from May 1 to 10, control over the observance of anti-epidemiological measures will be strengthened.

The first ten days of May in Russia was declared a weekend to reduce the incidence of coronavirus. According to the morning data of the operational headquarters, over the past day, as of May 2, 3208 new cases of infection were detected in Moscow. Earlier in the capital, from the end of January to the end of April, more than three thousand new cases per day were not recorded.

As noted by RBC, since the beginning of the pandemic in Moscow, 1.1 million cases of coronavirus infection have been detected, 993 thousand people have recovered, 18.4 thousand patients have died. In March, Sergey Sobyanin said that the mask regime and restrictions on holding mass events are likely to remain in effect after spring. But the authorities of the capital planned to cancel other quarantine measures until the summer.
