Police sprayed gas on Sennaya Square after several attacks on law enforcement officials. In St. Petersburg there has never been such a use of special equipment.

As the correspondent of "Fontanka" reports, riot policemen cut off people on Sadovaya Street on the outskirts of Sennaya Square. An unconscious man was brought into the paddy wagon - before that, according to eyewitnesses, five of him were beaten on Borodinskaya Street. He came to after being given water.

Using shields, riot police began to clean up the area itself. The surrounding people continue to try to repulse the detainees, snowballs are flying at the law enforcement officers, Fontanka correspondents report from the scene. After that, the police used gas.

On January 31, a Fontanka correspondent filmed a group of protesters near the Youth Theater beating off their comrade, who was being detained by the police. Red paint is flying at the security officials.

The video shows two police officers leading the detained young man to the bus. A group of his like-minded people first admonishes law enforcement officers, and then proceeds to take action. As a result, despite the truncheons, the detainee was beaten off, but the police did not leave empty-handed, twisting one of the members of the support group. Finally, red paint is shot at the security officials.
