The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation intends to expand the preferential mortgage for large families. The Office is preparing the appropriate amendments to the federal law "On the measures of state support for families with children, in terms of repayment of obligations on mortgage housing loans".

- The Ministry of Finance of Russia, together with the Ministry of Construction and JSC Dom.RF, is currently preparing amendments to Federal Law 157-FL in terms of expanding and clarifying the objectives of providing borrowed funds. In addition, a question is being worked out related to the clarification of the list of creditors who may participate in the implementation of state support measures, the Izvestia report quotes the ministry.

According to the sources of the publication, we are talking about new goals of soft loans. This may be the construction of individual housing, the purchase of unfinished or requiring repair of housing. Restrictions are intended for lenders. The subsidy can be received on loans concluded with banks, Dom.RF or accredited Dom.RF organizations.

According to Dom.RF, 30% of mortgage loans in May accounted for Family Mortgage. During the month, more than 29 thousand mortgage loans were issued, according to which recipients were able to purchase housing in new buildings. This is 21% more than in the same month of 2019.

In the relevant committee of the State Duma, they reacted positively to the initiative of the department.

Despite the popularity of mortgage programs, almost a third of young Russians do not want to "get into" a mortgage. The point is not in unfavorable conditions, but in uncertainty in one's own financial stability. Almost every third Russian citizen aged 24 to 38 thinks that he will not be able to repay the debt to the bank.

In April of this year, at the beginning of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, demand for mortgage products in Russia also fell by a third. In total, 81.5 thousand mortgage loans were taken in a month - this is 18% less than last year.
