Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced school holidays from 5 to 18 October inclusive. They usually last one week and start later. The mayor of the capital made the decision on extended vacations due to the increase in the incidence of COVID-19.
- To establish from October 5, 2020 to October 18, 2020, inclusive, holidays for students of educational organizations providing primary general, basic general, secondary general education, additional education, carrying out sports training, the functions and powers of the founder of which are carried out by the executive authorities of the city of Moscow - said on the website of Sergey Sobyanin.
In Russia, since June 16, more than eight thousand cases per day have been detected - 8 135. 61 people have died in the last 24 hours. For the entire time of the pandemic in Russia, 20,383 patients with diagnosed covid have died.
It should be noted that the expert on statistics and modeling at the Center for Economic Research Aghasi Tavadyan predicted the peak incidence of a new coronavirus infection in Russia.
“With the most favorable outcome, the morbidity and mortality rate will begin to decline in a week, the most likely scenario: Russia will peak in two to three weeks, in the worst case, the peak will happen in early November”, - Tavadyan said.
