Moscow is to blame for the fact that relations between NATO and Russia are today the worst since the Cold War, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg (pictured).

"Relations between us are now in the worst condition since the Cold War. And this situation has developed because of the behavior of Russia", - he said during a press conference in Brussels.

Stoltenberg pointed out that the Russian Federation seized the territories of its neighbors, interfered in democratic processes and behaved aggressively towards NATO members.

In his opinion, Moscow needs to understand that the world will be safer if it succeeds in establishing a "meaningful dialogue". At the same time, he assured that the alliance is ready for contacts with Russia at any time, and the proposal for a meeting remains in force.

As a reminder, on October 18, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that the work of Russia's permanent mission to NATO would be suspended in the near future.
